I have been working on some Christmas tree ornaments in the last week or so. Thanks to the generosity of a fellow in Lynn Valley I recently acquired a stash of holly which is proving to be a very good material to make the ornaments from. These ones are globe ornaments in which the ball has been hollowed out to keep it lightweight and then finials added in a contrasting wood. I have used a mix of maple, walnut and holly woods in making these ornaments and some of the holly has been stained with aniline dyes.
