At the market

I have decided to try out a few days at The North Green Market. It is a local farmer’s market that runs four days a week in different locations here in North Vancouver. My first day was this past Thursday at the Lynn Valley location, beside the new library there.

All in all it was a good day. I made a few sales, talked to lots of people and had a good excuse to sit outside and drink coffee for several hours. I was a bit surprised at the end to notice that almost all the cards that I put out were gone, although to be honest I’m not actually sure how many I put out, so maybe I’ll be hearing from some of the people who came by the table for a look.

The next three dates that I have booked are:

  • Friday, July 13th – In the shipyard beside Lonsdale Quay
  • Thursday, August 2nd – In Lynn Valley again
  • Friday, August 17th – In the shipyard beside Lonsdale Quay

I have them spaced out somewhat just in case I do well enough that I need to get busy and make more things before the next one comes around. So far that is not problem but I am told that there are a lot more people at the Lonsdale market and that they are more of buying crowd so I’ll have to see how it goes. If I do sell a lot then I’ll have a good excuse spend more time in the workshop making sawdust and having a few odd pieces survive to become something else.
